Personal information
Frederick James Thomas was a former crew member of the British steam merchant Empire Soldier, which sank after a collision with F.J. Wolfe off Newfoundland on 16 September 1942. He was rescued and taken to St. John's, where he signed up on New York a few days later and perished when the ship was sunk on 25 September.
