Personal information
Husband of Mrs. McKelvey, of Belfast, Northern Ireland. John McKelvey was one of nine survivors from Luimneach who landed in France and were interned by the Vichy French authorities. He was later handed over as prisoner to the Germans, but they released him on grounds of age and allowed him to reside in Paris, where he lived until the city was liberated by the Allies and eventually returned home to Belfast on 31 October 1944.
