Personal information
Son of Sivert Øiehaug, of Ålesund. Wilfred Johan Øiehaug was taken prisoner after the Norwegian motor merchant Kattegat was sunk by the German raider Michel in the South Atlantic on 20 May 1942. He was taken to Japan and remained a prisoner of war until 5 September 1945, returning to Norway on 12 November 1945.
