Personal information
Son of John and Margaret Anne Graham. He was taken prisoner by the U-boat that sunk Dumra, later transferred to the German supply ship Charlotte Schliemann and in August 1943 landed at Batavia, Java, where he was handed over to the Japanese and taken to a POW camp. Henry Townsend Graham was killed aboard the Japanese “hell ship” Junyo Maru, when she was torpedoed and sunk by HMS Tradewind on 18 September 1944 en route from Batavia to Padang, Sumatra.
