Personal information
Son of Mr. Louis Murray and Lula Gertrude Thames Alsbrook, of Manning, SC. Ansley Legare Alsbrook joined the US Navy in February 1942 and embarked the first time in April 1942 after training at Norfolk, Virginia. He survived the sinking of West Lashaway, but died of exposure on 9 September. His body was recovered and buried in Trinidad until repatriated and buried at the Florence National Cemetery in May 1948.
