Personal information
He was injured when USS Fogg was torpedoed, transferred to the fleet oiler USS Mattole (AO 17) the next day and died of wounds on 23 December 1944. On 7 January 1945, his body was transferred to the US Naval Hospital at Brooklyn, NY.
