Son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Calvin Innis, of Pittsburg, KS. Pilot of a Wildcat fighter from VC-55, vectored to the Canary Islands after USS Block Island was torpedoed and lost after ditching his plane at night after running out of fuel.
