Personal information
Fighter pilot, flying Martlet aircraft in 802 Squadron FAA off HMS Audacity. He had shot down two Fw200 Condor aircraft while escorting the convoy OG-76 and was one of only two survivors of his squadron when the carrier was sunk. Eric “Winkle” Brown later became a famous test pilot and wrote several books.
