Notes on event | At 20.06 hours on 10 June 1942 the unescorted L.A. Christensen (Master Arne Høst Olsen) was hit on the starboard side between #1 and #2 holds by one of two stern torpedoes from U-129 and immediately settled by the bow. She sank vertically with a heavy list to port after about 12 minutes. All men abandoned ship in three lifeboats and the U-boat questioned them and gave navigational assistance. The survivors were picked up after about 18 hours by Bill in 28°01N/63°57W and landed at Bermuda on 12 June. | ||
