Born 17/03/1893 to J S Hegarty of 23, Highbury Grove, Islington. Educated at The Grocers' Company's School, Hackney Downs 29/09/03 - December 1907. Merchant Navy, 2nd Mate 1913, 1st Mate 1916, Master 1919. G.L.Watkins, President The Clove Club - Old Boys of his School!
