Career information
Robert John Langley was the son of William Langley, who was one of the proprietors of the "Langley Brothers" enterprise which was involved with costal shipping operations, boat building and timber getting on the North Coast of NSW, Australia. He was named for his grandfather Captain Robert John Langley, who had founded the Langley shipping company, and had died the year prior to William's birth.
