Career information
Awarded DCS for action at Dunkirk, where he went with the Little Ships (Rummy II) when he was a Sea Cadet Captain (Twickenham Sea Cadets) – not in the RN. But was recommended for a medal as he was in uniform. First (and only?) civilian to get a DSC.
After Dunkirk joined the RNRV and saw action on corvettes in the Atlantic.
After the war was stationed on HMS Victory .
