(All times are zone 3) 0920 hours - Sighted a German U-boat of the 740 ton type bearing 214°, range 500 yards. Enemy course 310°. Started attack.
0928 hours - Fired three torpedoes from 1400 yards. It is thought that one hit had been obtained but this was not the case. (2)
