HMS Milne (Capt I.M.R. Campbell, DSO, RN) picks up 42 survivors from the British merchant Baron Cochrane that was torpedoed and damaged in position 43°23'N, 27°14'W the previous day by German U-boat U-406.
The wreck of the Baron Cochrane was sunk on the 29th by German U-boat U-123.

HMS Milne also picks up 52 survivors from the British merchant Lynton Grange that was also torpedoed and damaged the previous day by German U-boat U-406 northwest of the Azores in position 43°23'N, 27°14'W.
The wreck of the Lynton Grange was sunk on the 29th by German U-boat U-628.

HMS Milne also picks up 49 survivors from the British merchant Zarian that was torpedoed and sunk the previous day by German U-boat U-406 northwest of the Azores in position 43°23'N, 27°14'W.
