USS Bernadou picks up 10 survivors from the Belgian merchant Gandia that was torpedoed and sunk on 22 January 1942 by German U-boat U-135 about 420 nautical miles east of Cape Race in position 45°00'N, 41°00'W.

USS Bernadou (Lt.Cdr. R.E. Braddy, Jr., USN) picks up four survivors from the British merchant Fred W. Green that was shelled and sunk by German U-boat U-506 on 31 May about 200 miles southeast of Bermuda in position 30°20'N, 62°00'W.
