Career information
Broome entered the Royal Naval College at Osbourne in 1912. He commanded the destroyer HMS Veteran in the Norwegian Campaign of 1940. Jack Broome commanded the escort group of the ill-fated convoy PQ-17 in summer of 1942.
After his retirement from the Navy in 1947, he became a magazine editor, film director, writer and illustrator.
