Career information
Forbes graduated from the US Naval Academy in 1939.
After the war he spent time on destroyers before being given command of the submarine USS Torsk in 1948, holding the post for two years. He retired from the Navy in 1959.
He died of kidney failure at the age of 85 at Lorien Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Bel Air.
