German U-boat U-1024 was captured on 12 April 1945 in the Irish Sea south of Isle of Man, in position 53°39'N, 05°03'W by the British frigates HMS Loch Glendhu (Lt.Cdr. E.G.P.B. Knapton, RN) and HMS Loch More (Lt.Cdr. R.A.D. Cambridge, DSC, RD, RNR). The frigates attempted to tow her to port but the boat sank while underway on 13 April 1945.
