HMS Hawkins (Capt. E. Rotherham, RN) arrived in San Borombon Bay. Also there was HMS Achilles (New Zealand Division) (Capt. W.E. Parry, CB, RN, flying the flag of Rear-Admiral Sir H. Harwood, KCB, OBE, RN). Rear-Admiral Harwood then transferred his flag from HMS Achilles to HMS Hawkins.
HMS Hawkins then fuelled from the RFA tanker Olwen (6470 GRT, built 1917).
Early in the evening HMS Hawkins left for patrol and set course for the Rio de Janeiro focal area while HMS Achilles left for the Falkland Islands after which she was to proceed to New Zealand. (2)
