Career information
John Pemperton Mosse was born in Olney, Bucks on 27 December 1910. He was an anti-submarine specialist who did much to teach the RN how to defend itself against the U-boat threat and successfully pioneered the use of ASDIC in the icy waters of the Arctic. His memoir, Half a Lifetime, describing his naval career before, during and after WW2 is available for research in The Imperial War Museum:
