Career information
As a Lieutenant on the battleship HMS Duke of York, he was mentioned in dispatches after the action off North Cape during which the Scharnhorst was sunk.
David was posted as First Lieutenant of HMS Loch Tarbert. He was CO from March 1945 to 16 April 1945 (relieved the CO who was sick) and from August 1945 to 12 May 1946 when the ship paid off.
