John Wychard Harbottle was the second son of Captain
Thomas Cecil Benfield Harbottle, RN (1885-1968) by his first wife
Katheleen Millicent Kent, married 1913 and later of Tarrant Monckton, Dorset. His elder brother,
Anthony Guiscard Harbottle, was also killed in action, while serving in the RAF in 1944.
